Young Maine Readers Officers

Constance Jones Griffin, Chief Executive Officer
Educator, 34 Years, B.S. and M.S. degrees. Connie, recently retired, has always been involved with children in and out of the classroom. She has done volunteer work with the NY Fresh Air Foundation and the MA Foster Care System. Connie is presently active with Habitat for Humanity. She now joins those who have built strong literacy programs for young children. She supports the arts and environment groups in Maine, and is an Ogunquit resident.

Carol M. Regenauer, Treasurer
Educator, 34 years, A.B. and M.S. degrees. The development of children's literacy has been the guiding principle of Carol's professional career. She has developed a 3 year program for children entering school. Carol has worked as an educational consultant for IBM and Macmillan McGraw-Hill among others. She is included in Marquis' Who's Who Among American Educators.

Deborah Lawrence-Swallow, Vice President
A.B. History, Gordon College, MBA with highest distinction, Babson College. Deb has been the banking business for 20 years; she has held positions with Shawmut Bank and BayBank. Deb has been at Bank of America (formerly Fleet) for eleven years. She was part of the team in 2002 that originated the Professional Services Division across Fleet's Northeast footprint and currently leads the MA team. She has served on a number of not for profit boards. She is an Ogunquit homeowner and is involved in the community.

Jeffrey Ashworth, Secretary
B.A. Communications, University of Colorado-Boulder Jeff has a long time connection to the southern Maine community. He is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Jeff, an avid baseball fan, encourages literacy so, among other things, when the Red Sox Win the World Series, young People everywhere can "read all about it!"

Susan M. Wensel, Registration Coordinator
Graduate of Champlain College in Burlington, VT. Susan has worked in the medical field for over 20 years. She is an avid reader and believes that the love of reading should be instilled in children at a very early age. Susan is the coordinator of all registrations for Young Maine Readers.
